Proactively responding to engineering issues raised through site performance monitoring systems to improve Production 'Overall Equipment Effectiveness'
Ensure all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory requirements
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve line efficiency
Uphold best practices in health, safety, and environmental compliance
Proactively participating in the planned maintenance programme with consideration to optimising production
In conjunction with the Site Management team, ensuring that the production capability of the plant is optimised and improved for the needs of the business
Applying a "right first time" mentality to equipment maintenance and performance
Working to legislative and Company ethical standards in terms of safety, and food hygiene
Working closely with the production and hygiene teams to ensure an environment and culture of safe working practices are understood and maintained
Effective use of the preventative maintenance process
Working closely with the technical and production support functions to ensure actions from audits are kept to a minimum and communicating all outstanding issues
Providing 'on call' breakdown cover during unmanned engineering department hours on rotational basis
Experience and Qualifications
A recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Work effectively within the workplace providing support to the other members of the engineering team, production teams and other departments.
Always ensure the required company standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the workplace.
Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement & to add value every day to the business. Improving equipment reliability, stamping out recurring faults.
Work independently but within a team environment to provide the necessary support to the production processes.
Provide feedback to the maintenance system to allow its ongoing development and effectiveness to be improved.
Recording all documentation accurately and on time and provide reporting so as to allow accurate dissemination of information.
Attend any meeting or training necessary as required.
Carry out any other duties reasonably required as necessary
Solid electrical and mechanical knowledge with the ability to work across disciplines
Previous hands-on experience as a multi-disciplined Engineer.
An electrical bias with sound mechanical knowledge.
Engineering Apprenticeship or qualifications at Level 3 or equivalent, which is in date.
Previous practical experience [at least 2 years] within the food or FMCG industry is essential.
Food Safety level 2 or equivalent [training will be given]
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
