We seek a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team in Stoke-On-Trent. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency and safety of our production equipment and facilities through preventive maintenance, swift repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives. The company manufactures tiling adhesives, floor screeds, and associated products so a background in this industry would be advantageous but not essential. The company specializes in mixing powder products and filling them in various forms, they also produce pastes, liquids, and ancillary products. The role is working as the sole engineer and will also require good communication skills with relevant contractors to ensure continuous production and implement improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and improve planned maintenance on all equipment.
Perform and improve reactive maintenance on all equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults to minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during all tasks.
Collaborate with the production team to improve equipment performance and efficiency.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Member of the health and safety committee.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field (NVQ, HND, Degree, etc.).
Strong knowledge of PLC systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergencies when required.
Counterbalance and reach truck trained (not essential).
Computer literate (Microsoft package & internal systems)
