Maintenance Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Wasdell Packaging. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment and facilities through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting. You will leverage your technical expertise to implement effective maintenance strategies and contribute to our mission of operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and Pneumatic failures in a timely manner
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and upgrades
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and enhance equipment reliability
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures during maintenance activities
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
HND / Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment operation, and troubleshooting techniques
Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools
Preferred:
Experience with predictive maintenance technologies and methodologies
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices
Certifications in maintenance management or reliability engineering
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including PLCs, HVAC, and automation systems
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment and machinery
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
