Job Description

Tamlex is looking for a highly competent and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Telford site.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, oversee and quality-assure all maintenance and repair work across the site. Carry out regular maintenance and compliance checks to ensure a safe working environment for staff and visitors. Manage and prioritise maintenance tasks, including costing and scheduling. Take a proactive approach to preventing equipment failure through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns across the site, identifying root causes and proposing improvements to prevent recurrence. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety standards, highlighting any areas for improvement to the Business Manager.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to identify root causes of mechanical and electrical issues. Good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. Experience with roll forming lines, brake presses and similar metal forming equipment (highly desirable). Mechanical fitting skills, with additional experience in machining, welding or fabrication seen as an advantage. Electrical competency is essential. Ability to work independently with a proactive, solutions-focused attitude. A good standard of written and verbal English. Solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance practices.

Qualifications:

City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. 17th or 18th Edition (desirable).

Salary:

Dependant on experience
