Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical)

Location: Brackley, Northamptonshire (NN13)

Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Contract: Permanent, full-time (45 hrs/week)

Salary: 40,000 - 45,000 + 2,433 on-call allowance & overtime

The Role

You will keep our Brackley plant running safely and efficiently by delivering a mix of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and fast, effective breakdown response on mechanical and electrical equipment. Typical tasks include:

- Routine inspections, lubrication and condition monitoring

- Diagnosing and repairing motors, gearboxes, conveyors and control panels

- Light fabrication and welding for guards, brackets and pipe-work

- Fault-finding on 3-phase systems, sensors and drives

- Contributing to improvement projects that boost plant uptime and energy efficiency

- Accurately completing maintenance records and updating the CMMS

- Participating in a 1-in-3 on-call rota (additional allowance paid )

- Upholding strict health, safety and food-hygiene standards at all times

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

- Time-served maintenance background in a manufacturing, process or FMCG environment

- 18th Edition (BS 7671) or equivalent electrical qualification

- Solid hands-on skills across both mechanical and electrical disciplines

- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings

- Methodical approach to problem solving and root-cause analysis

- Confident communicator who can work independently or as part of a small team

Nice-to-haves:

- MIG/TIG welding and or machining skills

- IOSH Working Safely or higher H&S certificate ( training can be provided )

- Experience in feed, food or waste-processing sectors

- FLT and or Telehandler license

Working Pattern & Rewards

- Hours: Monday - Friday day shift (45 hrs), plus paid overtime at weekends

- On-call: 1 week in 3, fixed allowance (2,433 pa)

- Holidays: 33 days including public holidays
