Maintenance Manager

Role Overview

As Maintenance Manager, you will carry out a wide range of skilled maintenance duties including electrical work, plumbing, plastering, and painting and decorating to an excellent, perfectionist standard. All maintenance work must meet the highest quality to support our goal of delivering an outstanding care environment. You will be required to liaise with external contractors to ensure timely and effective resolution. You will also manage maintenance schedules, stock control, coordinating with contractors, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

Perform skilled maintenance tasks including electrical work, plumbing, plastering, and painting and decorating to a perfectionist and consistently high standard. Liaise with external contractors when specialist input is required. Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, stock levels, and audit documentation. Carry out regular audits of maintenance work and compliance to ensure high standards are consistently met. Keep accurate audit records to support ongoing quality and safety. Obtain, evaluate, and manage quotes from contractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement. Ensure all maintenance complies with health and safety legislation, including fire safety, PAT testing, COSHH, legionella and risk assessments. Manage inventory of maintenance materials and ensure timely replenishment. To ensure the maintenance and safe and secure storage of tools and garden equipment. Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests to minimise disruption. Requires a full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle. Promote a safe, tidy, and well-organised working environment, upholding best health and safety practices. A proactive and can-do attitude is essential. Able to work under own initiative. You will need to pay approximately 61.50 for a DBS, unless you are on the update service. May need to assist with gardening and cleaning paths and painting furniture.

Person Specification

NVQ Level 3 in Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or equivalent experience (required). Proven experience in skilled maintenance work including electrical, plumbing, plastering, and high-quality painting and decorating. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering work to an outstanding standard. Demonstrated ability to manage the maintenance of a facility and drive improvements to bring it up to and maintain high standards. Experience liaising with contractors and managing third-party services. Excellent organisational skills with experience in stock and record management. Good knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently. Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle required.
