Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager looking for a rewarding role in the heart of Edinburgh? At

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team as we grow and take on more hotels and hostels within Edinburgh.



What you'll do:


+

Maintenance Management


+ Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance across apartments, facilities, and venues.
+ Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring timely, high-quality completion of all tasks.
+ Prioritize workload, schedule project works, and maintain clear team priorities.
+ Manage contractors, review contract performance, and protect company assets and brand standards.
+

Technical Expertise



+ Complete preventive maintenance tasks including decorating, plumbing, and electrical work.
+ Respond promptly to guest requests and priority issues, ensuring comfort and service excellence.
+ Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues proactively to maintain consistently high standards.
+ Ensure all work complies with safety legislation, policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
+

Documentation & Reporting



+ Accurately complete documentation such as risk assessments, time sheets, and maintenance records.
+ Proactively identify and report opportunities for system or asset upgrades.
+ Use in-house systems (e.g., Logit or equivalent) to schedule, record, and track maintenance tasks.
+

Guest Interaction



+ Interact with guests in a warm, professional, and helpful manner, contributing to a 5-star experience.
+

Training & Compliance



+ Implement and train staff on Fire, Food, COSHH, and General Health & Safety procedures.
+ Ensure training completion and compliance records are updated on BambooHR or equivalent.
+ Train staff in using in-house systems to accurately log and track maintenance issues.
+ Support Fire, Health & Safety compliance through regular checks and accurate record-keeping.
+

Flexibility



+ Be adaptable to evolving business needs and varying duties.
+ Work across primary sites at 1A Parliament Square (EH1 1RF) and 50 Rose Street North Lane (EH2 2NP), with flexibility to cover branch offices within a 10-mile radius when required.

What we're looking for:


Previous experience in a maintenance role (hospitality experience preferred). Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach. Great communication skills and a guest-focused attitude. Knowledge of Fire, Health & Safety regulations. Flexibility and reliability to adapt to the needs of the hostel.
