What you'll be doing



As a Maintenance Manager, you will:


Ensure the smooth and safe operation of all building services within the East Slope and West Slope student accommodation developments. Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems. Lead on reactive maintenance, ensuring timely response to resident and facility requests. Schedule and manage routine inspections and compliance tasks (EICR, gas safety, fire alarms, lifts, etc.). Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and statutory records. Act as the Authorised Person (low voltage, mechanical), Responsible Person (Water), and COSHH coordinator. Manage and mentor a technical team, supporting skill development and ensuring high standards of workmanship. Liaise with external contractors and stakeholders, managing contracts and ensuring quality service delivery. Develop and monitor KPIs, prepare regular reports, and drive continuous improvement. Assist with building refurbishments, upgrades, and planned expansion projects. Maintain statutory compliance with health, safety, and building regulations, overseeing risk assessments and audits.


Who we're looking for

Qualifications:




HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. IOSH or NEBOSH accreditation (desirable). Membership of a chartered body (desirable).

Experience:




Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance management. Proven track record in managing technical teams, PPM systems, and compliance. Experience managing external contractors effectively.

Skills & Competencies:




Technical competence across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire systems. Strong leadership, people management, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational, planning, and budgeting capabilities. Proficient in building management and FM software systems.
