Multi-Site Maintenance Operative
to join our proactive Facilities team, supporting the upkeep and enhancement of our nurseries across Cornwall, including Truro, Newquay, Falmouth, Redruth, and St Austell.
About the Role
As a key player alongside our Facilities Manager, you'll ensure our nurseries remain safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. Your days will be varied, combining essential compliance checks with hands-on repairs and exciting projects such as decking installation, fencing upgrades, and grounds maintenance. Role Details:
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (40 hours per week)
Travel required to multiple nursery sites across Cornwall using a company vehicle
Full UK driving licence essential
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct vital compliance inspections including Fire Doors, Legionella, and Emergency Lighting checks
Perform high-quality general maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, and building tasks
Lead and support significant projects such as decking replacements, fencing works, and refurbishments
Maintain nursery grounds to ensure safe, attractive outdoor spaces
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience in reactive maintenance or a specific trade background
Adaptable, proactive, and ready to take on new challenges
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Committed to safeguarding and maintaining safety around young children
Willingness to complete Enhanced DBS and Barring List checks
Trade qualifications are advantageous but not required
