We are looking for a full-time maintenance person for our beautiful Stone House Nursing Home, in Stone, Aylesbury.



Duties to include:


To attend to general upkeep of building and grounds. To ensure all equipment within the Home such as hoists and wheelchairs are checked and maintained on a monthly basis. Any defects to equipment must be reported to management and fixed as soon as possible. To carry out maintenance jobs that have been reported by staff and written in the maintenance book. To sign the book when work is completed. To check lights and light fittings are functioning properly. Replace light bulbs when required. To check battery operated door guards every month and place batteries when required. To check all fire doors and door closers every month and fix any defects immediately. To ensure that furniture is safe for residents and visitors to use. Dining chair arms are not loose or broken etc. Respond to emergency calls for maintenance Manage the set up and take down of different events Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues Perform administrative tasks as required and ensure all relevant paperwork is up to date Travel between Peverel Court Care Group properties and complete allocated projects within an agreed budget and timescale To ensure the grounds are safe for residents and visitors to walk in. Paths and doorways are free from obstacles and tripping hazards etc. To ensure equipment used in the grounds are put away and not left where residents have access to it. To be responsible for the upkeep of the grounds and equipment used in the grounds. To be aware of the Health and Safety laws and to comply with the Home's Health and Safety Policy at all times. To be familiar with the Home's Policy on COSHH. To wear protective clothing provided for handling harmful substances e.g. gloves and disposable aprons. To check that all substances are clearly labelled and held in suitable containers with recommended directions for use. Any problems must be reported to the management promptly. To ensure cleaning and decorating substances are stored in locked cupboards at all times. To be familiar with the Home's Policy on Manual Handling and Manual Handling Operations (M.H.O.R.) To ensure regular redecoration of rooms as they become vacant. To undertake any training that may be required for the job.
