Job Summary:



Eva Burrows 1st Stop is a 32-bed residential Life House accommodating single males / females and families who are homeless. We provide an effective person-centred approach on the maintenance of life skills, mental health, addiction, social inclusion, employability and to achieve a better quality of life for adults and families within the South Lanarkshire area. We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Person to join our team on a full time basis.

Key Responsibilities:



We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated individual to take on this Maintenance Person Role.


The role of a

Maintenance Person

is essential to the smooth running of our accommodation -based services ensuring good quality accommodation is provided and repairs/ maintenance are completed in a timely manner. Ensuring both internal and external building/ grounds are well maintained.


Fire Safety and Health and Safety compliant and necessary tasks in order to complete this. This would include regular checks of equipment, safety needs and compliance.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:



Practical experience of working successfully in a similar maintenance/building/decorating job role Knowledge of Health and safety within residential buildings Ability to follow instructions and manage your own workload to perform tasks to the required quality standards and timescales Excellent communication with external contractors The ability to give and receive information effectively and efficiently to colleagues Basic computer skills to perform work tasks such as sending/receiving emails and reporting and logging repairs, contracts fire safety, health & safety requirements The ability and willingness to work within, be empathic with and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission
