Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive

Maintenance Person

to join our team at Blossomfield Rose Care Home offering exceptional care in a modern, safe, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to maintain and repair various systems within our facility. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent customer service skills, and the capability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Person

Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the care home, including fire panels, emergency lighting, and water temperatures. Carry out general repairs, painting, and minor plumbing/electrical tasks. Maintain outdoor areas including pathways, signage, and garden features. Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner. Assisting with decorating and refurbishing projects as needed. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues to the management team. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and support audits. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents. Liaise with external contractors when required. Build positive relationships with residents and staff, providing a friendly and supportive presence.

Requirements for a Maintenance Person

Proven experience in building maintenance or a similar role. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrics, and general repairs. Understanding of health and safety standards in care environments. DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance requests outside of regular working hours. A commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Full UK driving licence Full rights to work
