Join our team as a Maintenance Worker at Amegreen Children's Services!

Are you a skilled and proactive maintenance professional looking to make a real impact? Amegreen Children's Services is seeking a reliable and dedicated Maintenance Worker to help keep our homes and facilities safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. This is your chance to contribute to a meaningful cause--providing therapeutic environments for children and young people who need them most.

Main Responsibilities:

Carry out general maintenance and DIY tasks across all Amegreen sites--including Head Office, Residential Homes, Schools, and our equine therapy facility. Perform essential repairs such as painting and decorating, basic carpentry (including locks), joinery, adjusting fixtures, and assembling or relocating furniture. Unblock sinks, toilets, and drains; clean kitchen grease traps; and dispose of waste materials safely. Maintain tools and equipment in clean and working condition. Conduct routine health and safety checks, preventative maintenance, and ad hoc repairs. Undertake occasional driving duties as needed. Ensure strict compliance with Health and Safety policies at all times.

About You:

Flexible and available to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and as part of an

on-call rota

. Able to work independently and manage tasks using a structured booking system. Calm under pressure, organised, and capable of prioritising workloads. Holder of a full, clean UK driver's license. Kind, empathetic, and comfortable working in a care setting. Ideally experienced in basic electrical and plumbing maintenance. Proactive in performing preventative maintenance and spotting issues such as leaks. Familiar with COSHH regulations and safe maintenance practices.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

(excluding a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).

Flexibility required

to work some weekends and to participate in an

on-call rota

to support urgent maintenance needs across the service.
