Renowned and successful refractory engineering & maintenance company with its stores based in Sheffield but working throughout the UK seeks an effective plant and machinery engineer able to inspect, test, fit & maintain common refractory work equipment from pneumatic driven spray machines, breaking equipment, electrical equipment, welding plant and general portable equipment carried out from our Stores. Overseeing operations of storage facility including the organization and overseeing of all aspects of the stores from its building to its contents, inventories, handling deliveries both inward and outward, maintaining appropriate records and inventory and liaising with Contract Managers over needs and equipment requirements. Use fork lift to aid with deliveries. When necessary carrying out deliveries to site using company vehicle(s) of our equipment/materials.
- Excellent hourly rate according to age/experience.

- Hours generally 7.30am to 4pm at stores but may vary when delivering

Main Duties
Supervise and manage stores, carry out tests, inspections, maintenance and repairs on equipment within stores.
Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and maintaining store standards.
Troubleshoot equipment problems as they arise.
Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment, ensuring all machinery is in good working order.
Liaise with purchasing department to restock when needed
Create reports and liaise with Managers bi-annually
Organizing equipment and materials for jobs and if necessary to deliver to sites, with occasional periods of days away or overnight stays if delivering to sites of distance.
Vehicle checks on Company van(s) prior to use - reporting immediate issues. Maintain cleanliness of van both inside and out.
Oversee the health, safety and welfare of the stores and its staff. Carry out required checks in accordance with legislation & company policies.
Maintain accurate records of stock movement and competently complete any company forms as required including Risk Assessments.
Lead by example in promoting safety practices within the store.
Ability to work irregular/flexible hours when business need demands (paid overtime when required)
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a similar environment.
Professional qualifications pertinent to machinery maintenance of this type.
Clean Driving License; Counterbalance FLT License (or prepared to undertake relevant course);Manual Handling an advantage
Competent in use of IT
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in electrical systems preferred.
Well organized and methodical worker.
Ability to be away from home when job demands (accommodation provided)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with co-workers and Clients.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is essential for effective communication. Must have right to work in the UK.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail.
