We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their well-being. Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support with mobility and transfer activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document accordingly
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to supervisors
Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safety at all times
Follow health and safety guidelines, including first aid procedures when needed
Qualifications
Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient care practices, dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care is advantageous
Relevant skills include caregiving, medication administration, behaviour management, and first aid certification
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a caring environment
Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if required
