Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented and strategic Management Accountant to join our client's finance team in Beeston. This is an opportunity to join a forward thinking, highly reputable engineering business during an exciting period for the business as they continue to on an exciting period of growth.

The role will primarily be office based supporting the teams. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the financial planning and analysis process, supporting decision-making through the provision of insightful financial information and analysis. You will be responsible for Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Project Billing and Cost Management, as well and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis: Assist with the preparation of and carry out analysis of monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports. Provide insights that drive strategic decision-making. Cost Management: Monitor Capital Project costs against budgets and analyse variances. Advise management on profitability improvement strategies. Reporting: Develop timely and accurate financial reports. Present findings and recommendations to the management team and stakeholders. Internal Controls: Maintain & improve financial controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support their budgeting needs. Partner with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and achieve financial goals. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements related to financial reporting and budgeting. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Audit Support: Assist with both internal and external audit processes as required, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and available.

To be considered you will have:

A professional qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CMA, CIMA) is preferred. Proven experience (3+ years) as a Management Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of management accounting principles. Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting financial information in a clear and effective manner. High attention to detail, with strong organisational and time management abilities. Ability to work individually and when required as part of a team Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
