This is a hybrid position with approximately 2 days per week onsite. This will usually be our Shipton under Wychwood office, however there may be a need to visit our Cheltenahm office too.
Role Overview
The Management Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis. This role involves preparing and managing the profit and loss (P&L) accounts, cost of goods sold (COGS), and revenue recognition processes. The successful candidate will support the finance team in delivering timely and insightful financial information to drive business performance and decision-making.

What we're looking for

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in management accounting, revenue recognition, and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, or Sage).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-growing SME environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical mindset.
What you'll do
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss accounts with variance analysis.
Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in line with IFRS/GAAP.
Analyse sales trends and customer contracts to support appropriate revenue allocation.
Oversee COGS reporting, ensuring accurate direct and indirect cost allocations.
Collaborate with operational teams to understand cost drivers and impact on gross margin.
Provide detailed OPEX cost analysis.
Calculate and reconcile quarterly commission payments and transfer pricing.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Strengthen internal controls around financial transactions, accruals, and reconciliations.
Support automation and system enhancements within the finance function.
Salary
Salary range: 45,000 - 55,000
