Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our Farm and Cutting Plant. The Cutting Plant is a butchery and meat processing area.

Responsibilities

To ensure compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support the Financial Controller with strategic decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills and a proficiency in accounting software. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist with budgets and forecasts. Responsibility for the Farm/Cutting Plant

Purchase ledger, Cash Book, Sales ledger, Stock monitoring, Intercompany stock transfers

Monthly management accounts

- Prepare monthly management accounts by exporting from sage into excel for presentation to the business owner and departmental heads.
Requirements

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential. Proven experience in financial accounting and management within a farming environment is desirable but not essential Proficiency in Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable. Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Knowledge of prepayments, accruals, depreciation. Knowledge of margin calculation is desirable
