Your role as Management Accountant:





We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. This is a key role focused on delivering accurate, timely financial reporting under FRS 102, and managing the monthly billing cycle. You will take ownership of the month-end process, support financial forecasting, and ensure revenue and billing data is accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities



Technical & Financial Responsibilities



Maintain full ownership of financial books, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all financial tasks Prepare and review: + Monthly flash P&L + 13-week cashflow forecasts
+ Production plans
+ Contract schedules
+ CRM updates for revenue forecasting
Manage the monthly billing cycle, including cancellations and final invoicing Ensure accurate calculation and processing of commission and bonus payments Support with the preparation and submission of VAT returns Provide cover for supplier payments as needed Support audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit queries Assist with preparation of statutory accounts and the annual budgeting process Ensure compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102), tax regulations, and corporate filing requirements

Commercial & Analytical Responsibilities



Identify and explain unusual or unexpected financial movements Use Excel to generate reports, perform in-depth financial analysis, and support data-driven decision-making Maintain and improve reporting using Sage 200/Intacct, Quickbooks, Excel and finance dashboards where relevant Produce the monthly board report

People Management & Leadership



Line manage direct reports, supporting their development and progression Conduct regular 1:1s to assess performance, training, and development needs Attend internal management training focused on coaching, leadership, and performance management Develop personal leadership skills through ongoing training and feedback

Efficiency & Process Improvement



Continuously review and improve finance processes to increase efficiency and reduce duplication Identify and support delivery of cost-saving initiatives Assist with the financial integration of new acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of reporting

Working Style & Communication



Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial data aligns with business activity Build strong working relationships across the business and become a "go-to" member of the finance team Confidently communicate insights and reporting outcomes to key stakeholders

What we'd like you to bring to the role:



Essential



Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA (or equivalent) Experience preparing management accounts under FRS 102 Previous experience in the billing cycle Strong Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot tables) Previous exposure to VAT returns

Desirable



Experience in a services-led business or recurring revenue environment Familiarity with Sage 200, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks Previous exposure to audit and statutory reporting requirements under FRS 102 Experience in forecasting, budgeting, and cashflow reporting
