In March 2025 we acquired Solo Petroleum a small independent family run business in Yorkshire, the acquisition benefits our business model in terms of location and the plan is to have this company as a brand of Standard Fuel Oils rather than retain it as a subsidiary company.

Summary
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our team at Standard Fuel Oils Ltd. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting our mission by providing insightful financial analysis and guidance.
Responsibilities
Preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Perform variance analysis to provide meaningful insights to management.
Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of key financial controls.
Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
Support with year-end audit process for the various companies
Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight.
Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.
Assist with cash flow forecasting and analysis.
Supporting other finance functions such as purchase and sales ledger during holiday periods
Dealing with foreign exchange transactions for a subsidiary company.
Provide information to Payroll company
Requirements
Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role in a finance department.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in financial management.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting.
Ability to mentor and guide junior staff effectively.
Part Qualified/Newly Qualified ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
What We Offer
