Sass & Belle is looking for a skilled and experienced
Management Accountant
to join our finance team. This is a critical role, reporting directly to the Finance Director, and will take ownership of the organisation's day-to-day financial operations and monthly reporting.

professional with a solid background in producing management accounts, reconciliations, and financial analysis. The right candidate will have strong communication skills, a high level of Excel proficiency, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Job purpose:
To monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as revenue, margins, expenses, cash, banking, debtors, and other transactions . Ensure reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts are prepared. Act as liaison with the company's IT providers to ensure smooth running of the IT function. Reporting in to the Finance Director.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Prepare month-end reports, highlighting and interpreting variance to budget versus last year. This will include, but not be limited to -
o Analysis of Sales, COGS, margin.
o Analysis of Operating Costs.
o Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts.
Manage day-to-day banking, including but not limited to
o Oversee submission of reports and perform reconciliations as per the requirements of Receivables Finance and any other finance agreements. AR
o Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled.
o Weekly payment runs in line with cash flow.
o Liaise with the product team re payments to International Suppliers.
Manage the cash flow and produce forecast adjustments to alert management of risks or actions required to ensure the business remains within agreed parameters.
o Weekly cash flow forecast (13 weeks)
Manage relationship with E-Commerce team and IT providers for SAP and other software/hardware support
VAT return for UK and Netherlands
Manage merchant (payment card) accounts.
Analyse trade show sales and expenses and provide an informed view of the ROI (return on investment).
Calculate and regularly update the fixed asset register.
Monthly payroll journal from payroll data
Stock provision
Petty cash
Ensure accounts mailbox is up to date and emails all dealt with promptly and cleared
Audit - Submit Information as required to the company's auditors and work with them through the audit to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions providing help as necessary with these functions
o Ensure Credit Control procedures are followed and liaise with the Sales team and Accounts Receivable to resolve issues.
o Review customer terms and credit limits and discounts and flag risk and actions as needed.
Develop or recommend solutions for problems or situations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
CCAB qualified (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
Minimum
2 years' experience
producing management accounts and supporting schedules
Strong Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written English
Able to manage high transaction volumes in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience
Multi-currency accounting
SAP Business One
Developing or improving business systems
Experience within a small to medium business environment
Working Arrangement
Initial training will be full-time in the office (Vauxhall, SE1 7TY)
After training, the role becomes
hybrid
: minimum 2 days per week in the office
