Working as a Management Accountant, you will be supporting the Senior Management Accountant with the timely and accurate preparation of the Head Office management accounts for Group 1 Automotive as well as ownership of specific Balance Sheet and Income Statement lines.

What you'll do day to day




Prepare specific areas of the monthly management accounts for the Head Office of Group 1 Automotive in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. You will own segments of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for the Head Office, present results and provide variance commentary to senior management. Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations in line with required deadlines and work with senior management to highlight all risks and opportunities to the business. Manage the purchase and sales ledger for Head Office, monitoring aged debt and liabilities. This will include working with key stakeholders across the business to ensure supplier invoices are settled in a timely manner. Support finance transformation projects that include refinement of existing financial systems and migration to a new accounting system. Help prepare the annual Budget for Head Office, and re-forecasts where required Liaise with the auditors/internal audit, responding to queries and requests in a timely and professional manner. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to facilitate effective communication and collaboration in aide of ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the management accounts for Head Office Driving and encouraging the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting activities and control process, meeting relevant timeframes - documenting where necessary Compliance with auditing standards and Group1 accounting policies and procedures, demonstrating understanding and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley reporting requirements People management of 1 direct report

Demonstrable post qualification experience in industry, preparing management accounts and being responsible for Balance Sheet reconciliations. Gravitas and confidence to present and interpret results to senior management Familiar of accounting standards under different accounting regimes e.g. FRS 101, FRS 102 and US GAAP Proficiency in accounting software with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, macros, financial modelling). Ability to ensure compliance with accounting policies and legal standards. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant professional certifications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced high-performance environment Good organisation and administrative skills Can communicate effectively Excellent attention to detail Excellent level of numeracy
