We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant to join our growing family business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making. This position requires strong expertise in accounting software and financial management, along with the ability to mentor 1 other staff member within the accounts team.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate management accounts, reports, and forecasts.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Utilise accounting software Sage50 soon to be Sage 200 for efficient financial management.
Mentor 1 other member within the anccounts team and provide guidance on best practices in financial accounting.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitor expenditure against budgetary constraints..
Requirements
A degree or similar qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
Proven experience in a management accounting role. Does not need to be industry specific.
Proficiency in accounting software including Sage. PowerBi would be an advantage.
Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to mentor and develop team members effectively.
Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
