You will be expected to provide the lead role within a small but busy finance function reporting to the Finance Manager
Responsible for the control and reconciliation of the Sales and Purchase ledgers
Monthly maintenance / close routines for Nominal , Sales and Purchase ledgers
Nominal ledger journal postings including accruals and prepayments
Assist in the compilation of periodic management accounts including detailed analysis of cost of sales margins and production cost reporting with the investigation and resolution of manufacturing variances
Ensuring accurate weekly payroll calculation and processing / PAYE submissions
Banking transactions and bank account reconciliations. On-line banking tasks including the preparation of BACS payment runs
Prepare & submit Vat returns , credit control matters and petty cash transactions
Supervision, training and development of a finance trainee
Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Skills/Experience
A numerate person with a high degree of accuracy and an analytical mind
Organised approach with the ability to prioritise , manage challenges and work to strict deadlines
Have effective communication skills, are computer literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Sage 50 Payroll
Ideally AAT qualified with 5 years plus practical experience in a finance function preferably within an SME environment
