We're seeking a talented individual to join our VAT Tax Team in London, which is responsible for providing VAT compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients.


The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients and managing more junior members of staff as necessary. You will also provide assistance to Directors/Partners in both client work and in the management of the group. You will actively be involved in and identify special assignments and advisory projects where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Client work o Act as trusted adviser and begin to engage with clients to identify VAT issues o Manage portfolio of advisory and compliance cases o Give exceptional client service, taking the lead in managing and developing certain client relationships o Technically strong o Identifying opportunities on client portfolio Staff Management and development o Liaison with Partners and Directors o Appraisals/monitor staff performance, acting as formal ADR managers for some staff o On the job training for junior staff on a one-to-one basis o Dealing with staff questions o Work collaboratively with peers in team and across firm to ensure joined up approach Practice Development o Involved in business development activities/profile raising locally o Begin to develop relationships to drive new business opportunities and cross referral of services o Able to take advantage of marketing/PR opportunities o Compliance o Ensuring procedures are followed taking account of institute and HMRC guidance, where relevant Personal Development (Technical & Other) o Internal and external seminars and courses o Reading o Internal meetings

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you should have

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Significant VAT experience gained within the profession and or industry Required Technically capable tax adviser who is able to assist in complex client work Required Demonstrable experience of managing people and clients Required Appetite to develop business development skills to assist with the growth of the business Required

Professional Qualifications and Education

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) or tax advisor (CTA).
