GB Steel is at a pivotal stage. We've built a strong foundation in steel fabrication and are ready to scale -- both through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. As Managing Director, you'll have full responsibility for driving performance, shaping strategy, and building a culture of accountability and progress.

You'll manage both the Head of Sales and Head of Factory, ensuring commercial growth and exceptional operations go hand in hand. You'll also take personal ownership of Health & Safety and Quality Control, setting standards that underpin everything we do.

Working closely with the board, you'll agree ambitious growth strategies and then deliver them -- balancing long-term vision with relentless short-term execution. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, inspires teams, and turns opportunity into results.

About The Role

As Managing Director, you'll:

Take full P&L responsibility for GB Steel. Manage the Head of Sales and Head of Factory to deliver growth and operational excellence. Personally oversee Health & Safety and Quality Control. Work with the board to set and execute ambitious growth plans. Drive organic growth through sales, marketing, and operational efficiency. Lead and develop the management team, creating a culture of accountability and ownership. Build strong customer and supplier relationships to underpin long-term success. Represent GB Steel externally, building credibility and presence in the market.

Who You Are

Proven senior leader (MD, GM, Ops Director, or equivalent) in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial sectors. Experienced in managing senior managers (sales + factory/ops) and delivering results through them. Personally committed to Health & Safety and Quality as non-negotiables. Commercially sharp with a track record of growth, change, and performance improvement. Capable of working with investors/owners in a private equity-backed business. Ambitious, fast-moving, and execution-driven -- you don't just set vision, you make it happen. Inspirational leader -- able to motivate teams, challenge effectively, and drive accountability. Someone who takes ownership, thrives under pressure, and embraces responsibility.
