We are seeking a qualified Marine Engineer to work in this busy boatyard installing and maintaining marine systems on new build and refit projects. Must have worked on propulsion / mechanical systems on both commercial vessels and yachts as well as being able to interpret technical drawings. Must be qualified in Marine Engineering and have the drive to keep the yard working efficiently solving complex problems on a day to day basis. Newly qualified applicants considered as well as mechanical engineers from outside the marine industry - salary dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and installing mechanical systems on a range of vessels
- Testing, installation, diagnostics and repair on marine equipment
- Diesel engine, generator, propulsion and steering system installation from engineering drawings
- Maintenance, servicing and repair of all yard equipment and machinery
- Keeping records and creating maintenance schedules for all systems
- Writing status reports and diagnostic system tests on machinery
Location
Based at our yard in Padstow but may require regular travel for maintenance contract work
