Job Description

Global Satcoms is looking for an experienced Maritime VSAT Subject Matter Expert to provide remote technical support and consulting for field technicians performing VSAT installations aboard vessels worldwide. Acting as a technical escalation point, you will assist engineers during commissioning, troubleshooting, and system integration. This flexible, on-call role offers task-based or daily rate compensation, allowing you to work remotely while supporting critical maritime connectivity solutions.Tasks

• Support field engineers during VSAT installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve complex satellite communication issues, including Inmarsat GX and FX.
• Provide assistance via phone, chat, remote terminals, TeamViewer, and AnyDesk.
• Conduct virtual training sessions and offer consulting to clients and junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot stabilized and fixed VSAT antennas (SeaTel, Sailor, KNS, KVH, Orbit, Intellian, Kingsat).
• Work with COM-on-the-move (COTM) systems such as Winegard and iNetVU.
• Configure and maintain networking equipment (Cisco routers, access points, servers, and out-of-band management systems).
• Advise clients via phone or Teams, assist with solution design, and address installation concerns.
• Provide technical support for Starlink, OneWeb, and Kymeta when required.
• Extensive field experience integrating hybrid connectivity solutions (VSAT, LEO, LTE).

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Maritime VSAT solutions and hybrid networks.
• Strong expertise in Inmarsat GX and FX systems.
• Familiarity with Cobham, Intellian, Winegard, iNetVU, and other maritime connectivity solutions.
• Experience with Starlink, OneWeb, and Kymeta preferred.
• GVF certifications preferred.
• Cisco networking experience (CCNA or equivalent preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to guide field engineers.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Available for global on-call support.
