We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing and Commercial Manager to lead the development, promotion, and commercial rollout of our coffee brand as we transition from a single cafe to a multi-branch cafe-roastery and export-focused operation. This role will combine strategic marketing expertise with commercial negotiation skills to position our products effectively in the UK and overseas markets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies, developing commercial partnerships, overseeing brand campaigns, and ensuring the profitability of both retail and wholesale channels. They will work closely with production, purchasing, and quality teams to align marketing activities with operational capacity and brand vision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Marketing Development
Design and implement integrated marketing strategies for domestic and export markets.
Develop annual marketing plans with clear KPIs, budget allocations, and ROI targets.
Create campaigns that highlight our unique Middle Eastern-inspired coffee experience adapted for UK consumers.
2. Brand Management & Content Direction
Oversee all brand identity elements, ensuring consistency across packaging, websites, advertising, and cafe environments.
Collaborate with designers, content creators, and PR teams to deliver engaging visual and written content.
Direct photo and video shoots for promotional use, including product launches and cafe openings.
3. Commercial Partnerships & Business Development
Identify and negotiate partnerships with distributors, retailers, hospitality groups, and cafe franchisees.
Develop and manage relationships with export clients and overseas distributors.
Attend industry trade shows, coffee festivals, and networking events to promote the brand and secure B2B sales.
4. Market Analysis & Pricing Strategy
Conduct market research to assess competitive positioning, consumer trends, and price sensitivity.
Develop pricing strategies that maximise profitability while remaining competitive.
Identify opportunities for new product lines or seasonal offerings based on consumer demand.
5. Digital Marketing & E-commerce
Oversee the company's online presence, including social media, email marketing, and e-commerce platforms.
Implement SEO/SEM campaigns to drive website traffic and online sales.
Analyse web analytics and adjust campaigns accordingly to optimise conversion rates.
6. Export & International Marketing
Coordinate with logistics and compliance teams to ensure marketing materials meet international regulations.
Develop region-specific campaigns for target export markets, adapting messaging for cultural and consumer preferences.
7. Cross-Department Collaboration
Work closely with production to align promotional activity with product availability.
Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure marketed claims meet product performance standards.
Support HR with recruitment campaigns for new cafe branches.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in marketing or commercial management, preferably in food & beverage, hospitality, or FMCG sectors.
Proven track record of launching successful marketing campaigns and managing commercial partnerships.
Strong knowledge of branding, digital marketing, and market analysis techniques.
Experience in negotiating commercial agreements and managing supplier/distributor relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience in specialty coffee, hospitality, or artisan food retail.
Knowledge of export marketing regulations and international distribution channels.
Multilingual abilities for international trade engagement.
