: Marketing and Communications Executive

We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Executive to support the Marketing team in co-ordinating marketing and communications for Lancing College Preparatory School at Hove (LPH). The post-holder will work closely with the Head Mistress of LPH to ensure a consistent and positive presentation of the school within the local contexts to support pupil recruitment.

As part of the wider Lancing College family, this role includes a dotted reporting line to the Head of Marketing at the College in developing and implementing the strategic marketing plan for LPH. The Head of Marketing leads the central marketing efforts for the Lancing family of schools. We believe that the strength of a combined College and Prep School marketing expertise brings immense opportunities for a co-ordinated and effective presentation of all the schools. It also will enhance shared working, knowledge, co-ordination as well as operational efficiencies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:



To work with the Head Mistress and Registrar of the Prep School to develop strategies and deliver marketing plans to address specific student recruitment priorities. To act as the brand ambassador for LPH and contribute to joint planning meetings with the College Marketing team to ensure brand consistency, to optimise campaigns and identify opportunities for shared media placement, purchasing and group wide projects. To take a lead role in developing and delivering the marketing and communications strategy for LPH, including production of parent newsletters. To review and assess new marketing opportunities to target parents. To work with the Head and Registrar to present a professional and compelling face of the school to new parents. To work with the Head and Registrar to promote and raise awareness of pupil recruitment events, including Open Days. To play an active role in these and other key events in the Marketing calendar. To manage and implement digital marketing activity for Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. To develop and manage existing and new marketing content and day-to-day aspects of updating the website. To manage LPH's marketing and communications budget. To work closely with the wider College marketing team and assist the Head of Marketing with: Brand and brand application. Long-term website developments. PR and National/Regional press contacts and subscriptions. Placement and purchasing of marketing campaigns. Development and implementation of a co-ordinated PR programme for LPH. Development and production of printed materials, including the annual Lower Quad magazine working within brand guidelines. Designing and campaign planning. To regularly monitor competitor activity and press coverage. To play an active role within the wider team and identify, test and implement new tools and ways of working to increase the impact and efficiency of the team. To work with the Human Resources department to assist with recruitment of staff when necessary. To ensure communication is consistent with Lancing College policies on data protection and safeguarding. To establish, measure and report progress against key performance indicators. To be an active member of the wider College community.

Measure of Success



Success in this role will be measured by:

The number and quality of pupil enquiries. Recruitment of pupils across target markets. Positive coverage of the school. A co-ordinated, timely and relevant communications programme using innovative and compelling content. Relationships across the internal College Marketing team and wider Lancing Community.

Key Skills and Qualities required:



Essential:

Experience in co-ordinating cross-channel marketing campaigns and analysing customer data. Good understanding of targeted marketing and customer buying behaviour. Previous experience of working within a demanding customer service environment. Previous branding and creative experience. First-class writing and proofreading skills with accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure. Proficient in Microsoft IT packages, particularly Word and Excel. Ability to create and implement content opportunities and identify "story telling" opportunities. Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent time management, organisational and administration skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise. Ability to deal effectively with confidential and sensitive information.
Desirable:

Previous experience of working within a school. Good knowledge of education and independent sector, especially in Southeast England. Experience using InDesign, Photoshop and other design software.
