Marketing Manager - The Grand Hotel, Torquay



Location: The Grand Hotel, Torquay (Richardson Hotels Group) Hours: Full-time (5 days a week, 9am - 5pm). Occasional weekend work required as per business needs.

About Richardson Hotels



We are seeking a dynamic, highly organised, and results-driven Marketing Manager to join our team at the prestigious The Grand Hotel in Torquay. This is a crucial, hands-on role where you will be responsible for managing and driving the hotel's marketing initiatives across all channels. Your primary focus will be maintaining the Richardson Hotels brand standards, maximising revenue, and enhancing the customer experience.

The Role: Key Purpose



As the Marketing Manager, you will hold a pivotal role in both developing and executing our marketing strategies. You will work closely with the Sales team and external vendors to achieve ambitious marketing goals, encompassing strategic research, high-quality content creation, campaign deployment, and performance analysis.

Core Responsibilities



I. Campaign Management & Execution



Multi-Channel Promotion: Plan, execute, and coordinate targeted advertising and marketing campaigns across diverse platforms: Digital Marketing (Websites, Google Ads, SEO, and Email Marketing). Social Media Management (Paid and Organic strategy and execution). Traditional Media (Print, radio, magazine editorials, and direct mail). Strategy & Budgeting: Work to defined budgets, build effective campaign strategies, and ensure timely delivery of all promotional activity.

II. Creative Content & Graphic Design



Design Production: Produce high-quality, brand-compliant online and in-house artwork for all promotional assets (posters, banners, menus, vouchers, event materials, etc.). Email Marketing: Develop and deploy engaging email content, focusing on compelling copy, design, and effective subject lines. Visual Assets: Create visually appealing images and copy for seasonal campaigns and digital advertising (Facebook, Google). Design Proficiency: Utilise professional graphic software, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Acrobat, and manage technical print specifications for all materials.

III. Data Analysis & Administration



Performance Analysis: Assist with the collection and synthesis of quantitative and qualitative data from campaigns to report on effectiveness and inform future strategy. Market Research: Conduct competitive research to ensure the hotel's marketing strategies remain impactful and relevant. Stock Management: Manage hotel print stock and associated supply chain, including ordering branded stationery, brochures, and operational printed materials, alongside handling quotes and invoices.

Essential Skills and Qualities:



Proactivity & Drive: Self-motivated with the ability to identify opportunities for development and improvement and take ownership of these initiatives. Attention to Detail: Rigorous, thorough, and capable of maintaining exceptional accuracy while meeting tight deadlines under pressure. Technical Literacy: High level of computer competence, including expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, necessary for copywriting and stakeholder engagement. Creative & Pragmatic: Proven graphic design skills with a clear understanding of effective visual marketing and the ability to utilise existing resources efficiently. Teamwork: An effective team player who can successfully collaborate with a wide range of internal teams and external suppliers.

Desirable Qualifications:



A degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a marketing or business-related discipline. Good general experience and understanding of commercial operations, ideally within the hospitality sector.
