To provide therapeutic and relaxing massage treatments tailored to individual client needs, promoting physical and emotional well-being, relieving muscle tension, improving circulation, and supporting recovery or relaxation in a professional and safe manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct consultations to assess client needs, medical history, preferences, and areas of concern.
Deliver a wide range of massage techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports, aromatherapy, or remedial massage.
Adapt treatments based on individual requirements, treatment plans, and client feedback.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and professional appearance of the therapy room and equipment.
Offer advice on aftercare, wellness practices, and complementary therapies where appropriate.
Maintain accurate records of client treatments, preferences, and progress.
Uphold professional standards of conduct, confidentiality, and customer care at all times.
Support and contribute to the smooth running of the practice/spa, including booking, rescheduling, and promoting services or products.
Stay updated on massage techniques, anatomy, and relevant regulations through continuous professional development.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Recognised qualification in Massage Therapy (e.g., Level 3 or higher in Massage Therapy, Sports Massage, or equivalent).
In-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, and massage techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries, discretion, and client confidentiality.
Physically fit and able to stand or work for extended periods.
Desirable:
Experience in a spa, clinic, sports or health setting.
Certification in specialised massage techniques (e.g., hot stone, prenatal, lymphatic drainage).
Membership with a recognised professional body (e.g., FHT, MTI, CNHC).
First Aid certification.
