Opportunity

Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd, based in Ipswich, Suffolk, are seeking a Material Planner to join the Company. The role is one of constant demand and changing priorities, so we are looking for a keen individual who enjoys a challenge and has the ambition to fulfil the role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Release purchase orders and follow-up order acknowledgement;
  • Perform a sanity check on the MRP and ensure that the suppliers receive a weekly updated schedule;
  • Ensure continuity of production and on time delivery of materials from the suppliers;
  • Implement follow up actions in relation to material shortages and escalate / interface with Purchasing if required;
  • Maintain the systems to ensure correct parameters are maintained and the MRP is effective;
  • Ensure the system is updated from the Plan for Every Part (PFEP);
  • Assess volume requirements versus planning assumptions;
  • Monitor the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy;
  • Compare inventory levels against agreed target levels;
  • Present practical procurement KPI\'s & implement Corrective action plan;
  • Ensure material management is aligned to new product introduction;
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skills Required:
  • Previous ERP (Oracle or SAP), MRP experience essential, gained in a manufacturing environment;
  • MS Office Skills essential;
  • Clear written and verbal communications, with an ability to summarise and communicate results;
  • Ability to analyse, compile necessary data, and present recommendations to management;
  • Excellent customer service and organisation skills;
  • Ability to prioritise and achieve deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining effective communications;
  • Must possess the ability to interface effectively with other functional areas of the Company, as well as a worldwide supplier portfolio;
  • You should have effective time management skills and an ability to work well under pressure;
  • A team player.
