Could you be our Logistics Operative at Grove Park, delivering high-performance material control and support in a fast-paced environment at Alstom?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge in Grove Park and apply your logistics and warehousing expertise in a cutting-edge rail industry setting. You'll report to the Materials Controller and work alongside a dedicated and skilled team in Alstom UK&I.
Day-to-day, working in a warehousing and logistics environment, you'll take ownership of key stores and logistics functions including goods receipt, material handling, and accurate stock management using the company's systems. You'll ensure material is delivered to internal and external customers on time, safely, and with full compliance to Health & Safety and quality standards. You'll also play a key role in identifying improvement opportunities that enhance service levels, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement across the department.
We'll also look to you to:
Receive deliveries and offload materials using proper manual handling techniques
Check quality and quantity of delivered goods against documentation
Process delivery issues using the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process
Accurately receive materials into the management system and store them correctly
Audit and manage serialised materials and system stock levels
Pick, pack, and issue materials to production and customers
Ensure safe and efficient material movement across storage locations and sites
Conduct racking and equipment safety checks and audits
Complete documentation accurately and maintain housekeeping standards (5S)
Proactively identify and support improvement initiatives to enhance logistics performance
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and report any hazards
Liaise with internal departments to meet material requirements and resolve issues promptly

Experience within a stores environment
Knowledge of SAP and Maximo systems
Ability to liaise with other departments and supplier
Ability to use IT tools such as Excel, Word and MS Office systems
Valid manual handling certification (or willingness to complete training)
Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Warehousing/Logistics (desirable)
A reliable team player with strong work ethic and attention to detail
Proactive and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work under pressure
Flexible and adaptable to changing demands and priorities
