Dental Receptionist / Admissions Assistant
to join our team on a
12-month maternity cover
basis.
The Role:
As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service, managing appointments, and supporting the daily running of our front desk and admissions process. You'll be working closely with a team of clinicians, nurses, and admin staff across both general dental and orthodontic services.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcoming patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
Booking, amending, and confirming appointments using R4 and Sensei software
Managing patient admissions, registration forms, and consent documentation
Assisting with patient check-in and check-out processes
Taking phone calls, handling enquiries, and relaying messages appropriately
Processing payments and providing receipts, invoices, and treatment estimates
Ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records
Maintaining a clean and organised reception area
Liaising with clinicians and support staff to maintain a smooth patient journey
Adhering to data protection and confidentiality policies
Requirements:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to providing a positive patient experience
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous experience in a dental, orthodontic, or healthcare reception role
Familiarity with
R4
and/or
Sensei
software
Basic knowledge of dental or orthodontic terminology
Experience handling NHS and private patient processes
