We are seeking a dedicated and passionate In-Person STEM Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals through personalised instruction and support. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to educate students in a variety of subjects, with a focus on fostering a positive learning environment. Experience teaching children the National Curriculum in your subject, particularly those with special educational needs/Looked After Children, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding academic performance and areas for improvement
Create a supportive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes student engagement
Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to ensure continuity in student learning
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
Qualifications
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly with children
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles
Experience working with children who have special educational needs/Looked After Children is an advantage
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are preferred. Working towards these qualifications is also acceptable!
Access to the following is essential due to the need to drive to different locations across the Manchester area: FULL, CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE / CAR
