Maths Teacher
to join our dedicated team at a Pupil Referral Unit in
Eastleigh
. This is a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education.
Our PRU supports secondary-aged students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion, many of whom present with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching maths and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have complex and challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, engaging maths lessons tailored to meet a range of individual learning needs
Plan and adapt the curriculum to support academic progress and re-engagement with learning
Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, promoting respect, resilience, and responsibility
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, behaviour mentors, and pastoral staff
Contribute to a supportive and restorative learning environment
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching maths at secondary level
Has experience or a strong interest in working with pupils with behavioural, social or emotional difficulties
Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
Is flexible, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education
