The role
Communication Specialist College are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational individual to deliver Maths within the college to young people and adults with specialist communication needs including, D/deaf, Autism and Learning Disabilities.
Responsibilities will include
Delivery of Maths from pre Entry level through to GCSE
Support the embedding of Maths throughout the College curriculum
Plan, prepare and develop schemes of learning, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students.
Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods
Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners' progress
Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
Candidates should be able to show;
Certificate in education, PGCE or equivalent
GCSE (or equiv) Maths and English
Experience of delivering Functional Skills
Experience of working with children, young people or adults with SEND
Able to work as part of a team and communicate clearly
Experience of teaching small groups of students or other relevant groups, including direction of support staff
Setting and achieving SMART targets
Ability to provide information in report format
Knowledge of CPOMS
IT literate with a working knowledge of MS office, in particular: Word, Excel and Outlook
