Job Advert: Self-Employed Tutor (GCSE & Functional Skills Maths, with English cover desirable)
We are a small, friendly home education hub seeking an enthusiastic and experienced
self-employed tutor
to deliver engaging and supportive learning sessions for our students.
Role Overview
Subjects:
GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths (small groups and one-to-one).
Additional:
Occasional cover for GCSE and Functional Skills English would be an advantage.
Hours:
3-4 hours per week initially, with the potential to grow over the academic year and take on further responsibilities.
Pay:
Groups: 30-50 per hour (depending on experience).
One-to-one: 30-40 per hour (depending on experience).
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
Has strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths.
Can adapt teaching to meet the needs of individual learners in small group and one-to-one settings.
Ideally has some experience in teaching or supporting English to GCSE/Functional Skills level.
Is organised, reliable, and able to foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
Has prior teaching/tutoring experience (formal or informal), preferably with young people in alternative or home education settings.
