Job Description

Long O Donnell are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical CAD Technician to work within our multi-disciplines teams to work on a variety of projects within the energy and infrastructure sectors.

As an experienced Mechanical CAD Technician, you will:

To produce pipeline route alignments/strip maps, general arrangement drawings, isometric drawings and MTOs for mechanical and structural parts of gas assets and pipelines. To be in accordance with Engineer's specifications and in compliance with international codes and company standards and procedures

Use 2D and 3D CAD to produce mechanical/structural engineering drawings for gas pipeline and AGI design

To be able to work with minimum supervision and to ensure all drawings are accurate and efficient in design.

To ensure construction/practicality issues are considered at all times

Peer check detail drawings produced internally and by third party

Perform other tasks as assigned by the project lead or Director

Contribute to improvements and standardization of our processes

Salary: 30,000 depending on experience

To be considered for this Mechanical CAD Technician role, you will have:

Technician Certificate or higher (HNC) in mechanical engineering

Solid experience working in a similar capacity

Understanding of engineering drawing symbols and construction techniques

Excellent knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD applications such as MicroStation and AutoCAD

Experience of working with AutoCAD Civil3D, Revit, SmartPlant or PDMS would be an advantage although not a requirement.

Knowledge GIS software would be an advantage although not necessary.

Good numeracy skills

Good knowledge of detailing to European codes. Knowledge of national and international design codes and standards applicable to gas industry

Proficient with Microsoft Office /Office 365

High self-motivation, self-organizational ability, team spirit, assertiveness and experienced in working in multi-disciplinary environment
