Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator with a passion for mechanical services to join our team.

CSP are a growing mechanical and electrical services business, where the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective mechanical solutions across a variety of exciting projects.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical services packages, including, but not limited to, HVAC, pipework, plumbing and controls for commercial construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, engineers and other sub-contractors, and play a crucial role in ensuring our bids are technically accurate, timely and competitive.

Duties



Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Perform detailed material and labour take-offs for plumbing, public health, and piping systems to ensure competitiveness and compliance. Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications and drawings to identify all necessary components for accurate estimation. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to facilitate a seamless transition from pre-construction to the delivery team. Conduct site surveys as required, to assess project conditions and support the tendering process. Maintain up-to-date estimating tools, pricing databases and cost records to ensure accuracy and efficiency in future tenders. Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals as required. Source, evaluate and manage quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and compliance.

Qualifications



5 years+ proven experience in mechanical services estimating with a good understanding of mechanical pipework and associated systems. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all estimates. Proficient in using estimating software and tools, alongside advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear interaction with team members and clients. Estimating mechanical services projects up to 5m in value. Minimum ONC or Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.

Pay: 70,000.00-75,000.00 per year
