We are a engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support preventative maintenance activities at an industrial manufacturing facility in South Wales. This is a hands-on role working on-site as part of a close-knit team, with direct oversight from one of our Project Engineers.
You'll be responsible for delivering scheduled mechanical maintenance tasks, identifying and reporting faults, and ensuring all work is completed safely and accurately. This is a great opportunity to be part of a high-performing consultancy environment, supporting a major UK manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities
Complete planned mechanical maintenance (PPM) activities across plant equipment
Carry out routine inspections, lubrication, and component replacement
Identify faults, record findings in the site's CMMS, and report issues to the senior engineer or nominated site contact
Assist with the upkeep and reliability of pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and other mechanical systems
Work both independently and collaboratively with the wider maintenance team
Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring faults, suggesting maintenance optimisations, and contributing feedback to improve task planning and reliability.
Follow site safety protocols and permit-to-work systems
Communicate clearly with engineering, operations, and client personnel
Requirements
Recognised Level 3 qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance
Experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment
Strong understanding of mechanical fault finding and routine maintenance practices
Ability to read and work from technical drawings and PPM schedules
Comfortable using CMMS systems or paper-based reporting
Good ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
Tools and PPE must be provided by the candidate
