A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Mechanical Support Engineer to further their career with our well established client in Great Yarmouth.

Working in the Asset Support Team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll support the delivery of engineering excellence in your assigned project(s) by coordinating and delivering the engineering for an assigned project scope(s) to schedule and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and standards.

The role:

Support the day-to-day mechanical maintenance for all offshore assets, in above area of expertise. Office based with occasional offshore visits.

The key aims of the role are:

  • Effectively managing mechanical maintenance and engineering risks, in particular MAH\xe2\x80\x99s and the designated SECE\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Ensuring all maintenance and modifications are is carried out in line with legislation, the company procedures and industry best practise
  • Ensuring installation integrity, reliability, availability and maintainability of systems and controls
Scope of Responsibilities:
  • Close liaison with internal stakeholders and the client (as required) on all Mechanical technical matters, particularly offshore mechanical technicians
  • Ensure that operability and maintainability are consider in all design work
  • Ensure that all design work is preformed, reviewed, checked and approved in accordance with the engineering procedures with appropriate levels of due diligence being carried out
  • Provide mechanical support to offshore crews
  • Fault findings rectification including participation in investigations
  • Contribute to multi-discipline study reports for technical content
  • Preparation of technical correspondence to the client including technical queries
  • Preparation of ORA\xe2\x80\x99s and deferrals for mechanical equipment
  • Implement, integrate and review planned maintenance programmes in order to meet statutory and vendor requirements
  • Review and comment on documents formally issued through document control
  • Review and control maintenance in backlog, in particular SECE\xe2\x80\x99s, adhering to company procedures
  • Act as focal point for technical discipline related platform issues
  • Attend meetings, in particular to provide discipline technical advice
  • Liaise with Technical Authority ensuring technical approval and specialist advice obtained as required
  • Complete Technical Authority Assessment and fulfill responsibilities as required
Production and Efficiency
  • Ensure that activities are managed within timescales and cost to meet contractual obligations and objectives
  • Avoid waste by education and instruction
  • Carry out root cause analysis of mechanical failures to increase up time
Organisation and Resources
  • Provide professional guidance on training and competence required to comply with statutory requirements to meet current and future operating requirements in a safe manner
  • Assess personnel competence for relevant discipline
  • Provide technical input into the appraisal and performance review system and support with the monitoring of technical performance, as required
  • Carry out technical due diligence and audits on third party suppliers to ensure technical competence and skills
Safety and Environmental Related Tasks

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality
  • Ensure that human factors and SHEQ are considered for all engineering activities
  • Ensure SECE\xe2\x80\x99s are operated and maintained in compliance with the performance standards
  • Liaise with Offshore personnel, Contractors, ICP, Regulatory Officials and stakeholders to maintain communication as required
Competencies & Soft Skills
  • Experience in offshore mechanical engineering and maintenance of mechanical equipment
  • Detailed experience in at least one type of major offshore mechanical device \xe2\x80\x93 Cranes, TEMPSC, Generators etc
  • Experience and knowledge of controls in relation to Major Accident Hazards is essential
  • Experience and knowledge of writing, managing and monitoring SECE\xe2\x80\x99s, performance standards and verification schemes
  • Experience with maintenance management systems
  • Experience complying with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • MIST, Offshore Survival (BOSIET/FOET), Medical Certificate and secondary means of escape training i.e. Donut/S-cape \xe2\x80\x93 preferable
  • Excellent change control and organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of Major Accident Hazards, Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements and Process Safety Management are Essential
  • Strong IT literacy in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with computer maintenance management systems
  • Full and valid driving licence
Qualifications:

HND or equivalent in relevant discipline

Professionally Registered Engineer with IMechE or similar

Professional Membership of a recognised engineering body and evidence of ongoing Continued Professional Development
