Our team of Mechanical Technicians are responsible for the necking machines set up and maintenance. Identify improvements to achieve increased efficiency and reduce waste (downtime and can loss). Support shift engineers electrical and mechanical to resolve breakdown occurrences and the completion of level 1 PPM program.

Main Responsibilities are

Observe / adhere company health and safety regulations at all times
Carry out any mechanical (Bias) / electrical repairs (Challenge) required by engineering team, and/or shift manager
Complete tasks as set by the matrix manager (proactive / reactive lead)
Action any problems with production machines likely to affect production, or machines defects likely to make the machine unsafe to work.
Remake spares if not available during breakdown in compliance with regulatory requirements, and appropriate verification of competence
Support the development of autonomous maintenance by upskilling operators knowledge and know how. Updating Operation standards for continuity and standardisation
Efficiently carry out the PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) to company standards
Identify and implement continuous improvement of processes & machines
Own project themes as determined by the engineering manager/leadership group (SMART Objectives)
Innovative machine set up / modifications to make better
Hand over to the on-coming maintenance engineer and inform him/her of the state of the lines and of any in progress repairs
Minimise waste by adopting lean principles and maintain a clean and tidy work ethic.
Maintain accurate records in line with Ball requirements.
To adhere to ISO/BRC requirements.
Perform duties in such a way as to observe and maintain established housekeeping standards
Return tools, parts and other equipment to appropriate storage locations
Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a tidy and functional state at all time, ensuring all are fit for purpose.
Perform all tasks relating to operating and maintaining production machines
Continually seek to optimise production output and quality by way of responding to machine and process electrical and mechanical problems and taking appropriate action

This is a role working a rotating shift pattern as shown below. You will be working 4 weeks on days (6am \xe2\x80\x93 6pm) followed by 4 weeks on nights (6pm \xe2\x80\x93 6am)

Week 1 \xe2\x80\x93 Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat & Sun
Week 2 \xe2\x80\x93 Weds & Thurs
Week 3 \xe2\x80\x93 Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat & Sun
Week 4 \xe2\x80\x93 Weds & Thurs

Then alternate to opposite shift.
