Mechanical Technician

Job Function: After Sales Service Repair



We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Technician to join our team at the Regional Service Facilities in Manchester. In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily service activities related to the refurbishment of John Crane products.

You will work in accordance with company procedures, policies, and standards, ensuring adherence to best practices. Your participation in improvement activities within the service facility will be crucial to achieving our business plan objectives, which include prioritizing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create service orders on the business system upon receipt of returned items for repair.
• Strip, inspect, report, clean, and code bill of materials for returned items.
• Receive inbound items from the supply base, update the system with the received items.
• Assemble, test, and pack repaired John Crane products before returning them to customers.
• Manage the dispatch routines for outbound service deliveries.
• Occasionally visit customer sites to provide support in the removal, installation, and commissioning of mechanical seals.

The Individual

• Time served apprenticeship ideally in a maintenance based predominantly mechanical business, good secondary and further education qualifications

• Prior experience as a mechanical technician or in a similar role is essential.
• Familiarity with rotating equipment and experience in their maintenance is preferable.
• Willingness to develop the required skills and experience for on-site servicing.

• Possession of a valid driving license
