Full-time 5 out of 7, including mandatory attendance at the large-scale air shows and events

Work Hours:

40 hours per week

Salary:

30,000 - 33,000 DoE

Annual Leave:

22 days + 8 Bank Holidays

Job Summary



The Shuttleworth Trust is looking for a driven and engaging Media and Communications Officer to join its growing Marketing Team. With guidance from the Marketing Manager, the role will be responsible for delivering the PR and Media Strategy by engaging with internal teams, external media and stakeholders, to promote all aspects of the Trust. This role requires someone creative and personable, as well as someone who thrives working in a fast-paced environment with great initiative. Outside of PR, the Media and Communications Officer will also form an integral part of the wider team, working with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Assistant to deliver the broader Marketing Strategy; this may include, but is not limited to: creating and sending marketing emails, preparing and scheduling social media content, print distribution, and the production of marketing materials.

Communications Strategy, Planning & Delivery:



Support the Marketing Manager in developing the Media and PR strategy to increase visibility and public awareness of the Shuttleworth Trust.

Take the lead in implementing and evaluating the Media and PR strategy.

Be the first means of contact for any and all media related enquiries.

Work closely with an external PR service providers.

Drive the development, execution and evaluation of effective cross-channel communication campaigns, whilst ensuring consistent messaging and brand across all channels.

Generate and evaluate Media plans for events, key calendar dates and projects.

Review and respond to all external review sites including, but not limited to: Trip Advisor and Google reviews - engaging with relevant wider teams as required.

Manage the enquiries and media email inboxes.

Manage and develop the Trust's visibility on external listing sites.

Content Creation:



Compose compelling stories about the work of the Shuttleworth Trust, our assets and our staff and volunteers, to engage media and the wider public.

Create and curate content that supports and promotes events, initiatives and public awareness campaigns.

Write content for distribution campaigns, emails, website and where needed, social media channels.

Attend events to manage media, provide live updates and gather post-event content.

Digital Communications:



Support the wider team with digital communications by engaging with and responding to visitors via our social media channels. (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, YouTube).

Generate and evaluate any and all external customer surveys.

Media/PR:



Establish and maintain strong relationships with current media contacts.

Build upon and develop the current media list.

Write and distribute press releases and relevant statements as required.

Coordinate media coverage of stories, events, campaigns and Trust milestones.

Respond and facilitate media requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring any Shuttleworth spokespersons are fully briefed.

Monitor, evaluate and report on any and all press coverage.

Be prepared to support or manage any crisis communications, liaising with the media and ensuring a clear and accurate response.

Maintain the integrity of Shuttleworth's brand, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone of voice and visual identity across all platforms and following brand guidelines.

Support internal stakeholders in maintaining brand consistency across all forms of communication, to ensure branding is consistent both online and in print.

Help to maintain Shuttleworth's media library, ensuring it is current, structured and maintained.

Keep abreast of developments in the media and use awareness of the news agenda to maximise coverage potential.

Customer Service:



Ensure provision of high quality and efficient service to customers.

Support with complaints and feedback as required.

Be a key contact where required to clients, stakeholders and guests.

Influencer outreach:



Establish and maintain strong relationships with influencer contacts.

General:



Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required.

Relationships



Invest in and promote close working relationships in all areas of the Shuttleworth Trust.
