What does a Media Assets Manager do at Busuu?
You will work with our team of Learning Designers to build and shape our educational content across 14 languages, facilitating and managing the range of audio, video and visual media assets used by the team to help over 100 million learners around the world to progress towards their language learning goals.
You will also liaise closely with our product and marketing team ensuring all our media assets align with the company brand.
This role comes with full ownership of media asset management processes with growing responsibilities in shaping workflows, strategy and execution while exploring the future of media in education.
On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities would include:Sourcing, negotiating and managing contracts with voice artists worldwide for all language courses. Acting as the learning design team's point of contact for voice artist requests, ensuring delivered audio meets Busuu's technical and quality standards.
Manage all media partnerships (negotiating, invoicing etc)
Managing in-house projects to support the learning design team, including mixing tracks producing videos, animations and custom images for courses
Owning and driving external projects, collaborating with third-party providers to ensure media production aligns with content needs and managing rights agreements for text, image and video assets across all languages
Working closely with the Director of Learning Design and Content Operations to manage the team's annual media asset budget and overseeing ongoing media expenditures
Recommending services and tools to streamline media asset workflows and enhance efficiency
Collaborating with a freelance team as needed that supports the media assets team on the daily tasks

What we're looking for in a Media Assets Manager
Required:You have experience negotiating contracts with third-party media providers, vendors or content licensors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality asset procurement
You are able to track and analyse media-related metrics to identify and drive improvements
You have previous experience editing and managing audio and video files
You have a proven ability to manage production processes and maintain an efficient workflow from audio/video request through to delivery, handling multiple simultaneous projects
You are confident using tools like Audacity for audio and Adobe Premiere Pro for video
You possess strong budget management skills, including tracking media asset expenditures and making recommendations to optimise spending
You are highly organised and detail-oriented, ensuring consistency and quality across all media assets
You possess strong communication and collaboration skills: ability to be clear, diplomatic and concise
Nice to have:A strong curiosity and a keen drive to explore how AI-driven media tools can be best applied in our content, particularly within the EdTech space
Experience working cross functionally with agile product teams
Additional spoken languages are a big plus
A strong interest in language learning and its integration with innovative media tools
Familiarity with the competitor landscape in edtech
Familiarity with copyright laws and restrictions in various markets to advise on media-asset-use, with support from our Legal team when needed
