Job Description

The People's Production Company, is the creative engine behind the events and outreach of The People's Orchestra charity. A new Media & Engagement Assistant role plays a vital role in bringing our music, stories, and community voices to life across social media, digital platforms and live events.

Whether it's designing an Instagram Reel from last night's rehearsal, updating the concert webpage, or helping shout about our TPO Community Lottery, creativity and attention to detail will help us reach more people, inspire new audiences, and strengthen the sense of belonging that defines everything we do.

The Mission



To support the planning, creation and delivery of engaging digital content and communications that amplify our live events and community engagement. To help tell the story of our orchestras, choirs and charity work - in a way that is visual, authentic, and emotionally resonant.

Week by Week



You'll be supported through training and mentoring in all areas listed below -

Social Media Content & Scheduling

Plan and schedule posts across our platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) Clip and edit short-form video content (e.g. rehearsals, interviews, teaser trailers) Write captions that connect with real people and reflect our friendly, inclusive tone Use Canva templates to create eye-catching graphics that match the brand Join occasional rehearsals and events to gather fresh content
Website & Event Updates

Keep location-specific choir and orchestra pages up to date via our WordPress site (training provided) Add new events, blog posts, and featured stories Support content optimisation (basic SEO) for discoverability online
Email Newsletters & Comms

Format and send regular newsletters Help craft updates for participants, supporters and donors Segment contact lists and personalise messages where possible (Salesforce training included)
TPO Lottery & Supporter Engagement

Promote our monthly Lottery across social and email Help prepare visuals and short posts announcing winners and good news stories Support occasional charity campaigns and fundraising messaging
Live Event Support (as needed)

Help prepare digital marketing materials for upcoming concerts and workshops Attend selected events to assist with content gathering or behind-the-scenes support Contribute to post-event wrap-ups (social posts, galleries, thank-you emails) Some tech support and handling where / if needed
Continued Learning To -

Balance creativity with scheduling and strategy Think like our audience - what do they want to see, feel, and do? Use tools like Canva, CapCut, WordPress, Mailchimp, Salesforce and Meta Suite Adapt your tone of voice for different platforms Work with a wider production team to deliver high-quality, inclusive events

Team & Support



The role reports to the CEO of The People's Orchestra, and work closely with -

TPO's Orchestra Manager TPSC's Community and Engagement Manager Choir & Orchestra Coordinators Volunteers, performers and storytellers from across the charity

The role will receive:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 25,000.00-29,000.00 per year
