The Opportunity:
The Cheerambathur research group at the University of Edinburgh's School of Biological Sciences (Kings Buildings campus) is seeking a motivated individual to assist with the preparation of agar-based media for Caenorhabditis elegans ( C. elegans ) research. This is a part-time role, working two days per week, ideally suited to someone looking to gain or expand their laboratory experience in a dynamic research environment.
You will be responsible for preparing growth media and laboratory reagents using standard protocols to support ongoing research. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with supervision are essential for this post. While prior awareness of laboratory procedures-especially safe lab equipment operation-is desirable, full training will be provided.

Attention to detail and willingness to follow protocols
Reliable and punctual
Ability to operate an autoclave (training provided if needed)
Good communication skills
Good understanding of biology and a positive approach to work
