We are seeking a friendly, dedicated and organised Medical Administrator/ Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth operation within the medical practice, contributing to a positive patient experience.
Duties
Handle incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and care.
Care Navigation- asking questions and making decisions to direct the patient to the appropriate professional
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations.
Process patient registrations and update information as necessary.
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely communication regarding patient needs.
Greet and welcome patients in a professional and friendly manner
Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, emailing and scanning documents
Handle incoming and outgoing mail
Provide general support to patients, clients, and staff
Maintain a clean and organised reception area.
Essential Requirements
Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A compassionate approach towards patients and their families.
Proficient in computerised systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable
Previous experience in an office or administrative role is preferred.
Proficient in using office equipment and computer software, including electronic health record systems.
Medical terminology
Previous experience in a medical administrative or clerical role is preferred
